Rare and beautiful, Alocasia Frydek Variegated, also known as  Alocasia micholitziana is for someone who wants a proper statement plant and is willing to give it a bit of attention. A true collectors plant, the unpredictable white variegation makes each one completely unique.

Best placed in bright, indirect light where the variegation can hold. Think near a window but out of direct sun. It suits living rooms, bedrooms, or anywhere you want something that actually draws the eye rather than blends in. This is not a “leave it and forget it” plant. It prefers consistent watering, higher humidity, and a stable environment, but in return it grows fast and looks unreal when happy.

A strong choice if you’ve already owned a few plants and want to step into something more premium.

A few house rules...

Light

Frydek loves bright, indirect light. Its used to growing beneath taller trees in the tropics, where the sun is filtered through leaves above. Too much direct sunlight will mark its velvety surface, but too little and it will slow down, producing smaller leaves. A bright, softly lit spot suits it best.
Watering

Check the top few centimetres of soil and water when they start to feel dry. It enjoys moisture but not wet feet, so make sure the pot drains well. Coming from humid forests, it appreciates regular misting or being grouped with other plants to keep the air slightly moist.
