Fuchsia brings a lot of colour, very quickly. The flowers hang delicately from the stems in bright pinks, reds and purples, giving it that slightly wild, overflowing look that works so well on patios, balconies and near doorways.

It flowers heavily through the warmer months and has a softer, more romantic feel than a lot of outdoor plants. Left to grow naturally, it becomes fuller and slightly trailing, which makes it especially good in pots and containers where the flowers can spill over the edges a bit.

It looks delicate, but it’s actually fairly straightforward to keep happy once you get the watering right.

A few house rules...

Bright spot with some shelter from harsh afternoon sun. Morning sun or partial shade is ideal.

Keep the soil evenly moist, especially during warmer weather. Fuchsia doesn’t like drying out completely.
